The Excelsior Standard

Excelsior is the highest level of recognition within the Technical Sales Alliance. It is not awarded based on tenure alone, nor is it granted through application alone. It reflects demonstrated experience, meaningful contribution, and consistent leadership within the field and community.

To be considered for Excelsior, candidates should demonstrate the following:

Proven Experience

  • A strong track record in technical pre-sales, solutions architecture, or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated involvement in real-world customer engagements
  • Experience designing, presenting, or validating complex solutions

Demonstrated Impact

  • Evidence of meaningful contribution to business outcomes (e.g., deal support, architecture leadership, customer success)
  • Participation in high-value or complex engagements
  • Ability to translate technical capability into measurable results

Contribution to the Community

  • Active participation within the Technical Sales Alliance (content, discussions, knowledge sharing, etc.)
  • Willingness to support and mentor other members
  • Contribution to the growth and quality of the community.

Leadership & Professional Conduct

  • Consistent demonstration of professionalism, integrity, and accountability
  • Ability to lead through influence, not just authority
  • Representation of the standards and values of the Technical Sales Alliance

Consideration Process

  • Excelsior candidates are reviewed based on the totality of their experience, contributions, and demonstrated impact.
  • Submission of a request for consideration does not guarantee acceptance. Each candidate is evaluated individually to ensure the integrity of the Excelsior standard is maintained.
